Athens Limestone Event Center sits about 25 minutes west of Huntsville and is one of the most-booked wedding venues in Limestone County. The main hall has high ceilings, polished floors, and a configurable layout — couples can host anything from an 80-guest dinner to a 250-guest reception in the same room. Where We Put the DJ Rig
The room has good sightlines from most angles, so we place the DJ booth where the dance floor floats, not against the back wall. For 150-guest receptions and up, we add satellite speakers near the head table so the toast audio reaches every seat. For smaller receptions, a centralized two-speaker setup is plenty.
Lighting in This Room
The high ceilings handle moving heads and pillar truss well. Uplighting around the perimeter walls makes the room feel intimate at any size — without it, large weddings feel cavernous. For the cake spotlight, a single pinspot works; the floors are reflective enough to carry the light without needing extras.
What Athens Brides Tend to Ask Us
The two most common requests we get for Athens Limestone weddings are cold spark machines for the first dance and a 360 photo booth in one of the side rooms. Both fit the venue well. The 360 booth in particular benefits from the side room because it gives guests a defined photo space without competing with the main dance floor.
