Burritt on the Mountain sits on Monte Sano, overlooking downtown Huntsville. Couples typically use it in one of three configurations: ceremony at Baron Bluff with reception in the museum, ceremony at Chapel on the Mountain with reception elsewhere, or a full Burritt buyout. Each one needs a different DJ setup, and we have done all three. Read more about our Photo Booth Rentals.
Ceremony at Baron Bluff
Baron Bluff is open-air, with the city of Huntsville stretched out behind the altar. It is breathtaking and brutal for sound. Wind shifts every few minutes; mic windscreens are required. We bring a portable PA, lavalier on the officiant, and a wireless handheld on a stand for readings and vows. Speaker placement matters here — we angle inward so the bluff edge does not bounce sound back.
Reception in the Museum
The reception space inside the Burritt museum has wood floors and historic exhibits along the perimeter. We light it warm — amber and bistro tones rather than aggressive moving heads — to match the room. Uplighting along the perimeter is the most common request and looks excellent here. Cold spark for the first dance works because the ceiling has enough height; we run a strict pre-event ceiling and clearance check anyway.
Photo Booth Placement
The Mirror photo booth fits naturally inside the museum reception space — it complements the historic interior rather than fighting it. The 360 needs more space; we usually set it up outside on the covered patio for Burritt weddings when weather allows. Halo booth works in either spot.
Logistics That Trip Up Other Vendors
Load-in at Burritt is up a mountain road and through narrow paths to whichever space you are using. We bring the gear that travels best for the venue, not necessarily the biggest rig we have. And the bluff has no power — every cable runs from the museum building. Knowing this in advance saves hours on the wedding day.
